Most bank executives are carrying the weight of margin pressure, staffing gaps, and an economy that refuses to cooperate. But there’s one performance lever you can pull instantly—and it changes everything: your state of gratitude.
In this video, Roxanne Emmerich issues a powerful reminder that gratitude isn’t a fluffy sentiment. It’s a strategic filter that reshapes how you perceive stress, pressure, and “hard work.” She shares a vivid story from growing up milking cows in twenty below temperatures—snow going sideways—and how that experience still reframes every challenge she faces today.
When gratitude becomes your default operating system, you show up differently as a leader. Your team feels it. Your culture stabilizes. And your own energy rises.
In this episode, you’ll discover how to:
-
Shift from pressure to perspective in seconds—even when margins are tight
-
Turn gratitude into action by intentionally lifting someone up in the next 48 hours
-
Reconnect with the kind of leadership presence your people crave
This message is worth sharing with your executive team and board as a powerful Thanksgiving reset.
Watch now.
On this Thanksgiving holiday, I give thanks for you, and I hope that you’re in a state of gratitude. Gratitude is the filter through which we take in life. You see, at every moment in time, things could be a whole lot worse. And that’s what gratitude is.
I constantly remind my team about when I was growing up and milking cows and going to the barn when it was twenty below and the snow was going sideways—that right now, no matter what I’m doing, it never feels like work. I’m in a state of gratitude. My life is always better. No matter where you are in life, be grateful for what you have because that gratitude brings joy.
And on this special holiday, one of the best ways to extend gratitude is to lift someone else up. Make a conscious plan today about who you’re deciding to go make an impact on in the next two days, and get busy. Make a difference in their lives. You see, we feel best about ourselves when we’re giving to others and shifting their lives.
Be very intentional this Thanksgiving about making that difference. Choose your target. Have some fun, and Happy Thanksgiving!
